Lake Poygan continues to produce walleye for those anglers out looking for them. A typical day will also have you reeling in sheep head, crappie, catfish and northern pike quite often. Small baits such as Flicker Shads, Salmo Hornets, Shad Raps and Wally Divers will all catch fish. Sometimes they prefer the smaller #5 and sometimes it is the #7 size that is getting the bites. Purple has been good but they have been hitting on most anything, depending on the day and amount of sunshine.
Fishing also remains very good throughout the river system. High water has created a crank bait bite along flooded cover that is producing walleye, smallmouth bass, catfish, northern pike and a few crappies. The real crappie and pike action has been in the backwaters and out on Partridge Lake.
MY NEW RIVER MAPS ARE COMPLETE! I’LL POST SOME VIDEO SHOWING YOU WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE AND A LINK TO AN ORDER FORM.

Map #2 cover both the Wolf and Embarrass River from New London all the way to highway 156 and includes an in-depth mileage chart and all access locations. It’s a great map for snowmobilers and for those who like to canoe or kayak. Each map is 20″ X 29″ and is printed on rip-proof, water-proof paper that also floats.
