An Up/Down Run

Well there have been lots of reports of post spawn fish along with plenty of reports of pre-spawn fish but for the most part, most anglers are not catching lots of walleyes.  I’ve heard some reports of good action from below Fremont, but many of those are 12 – 13 inches.  I’ve talked to friends who have been catching some better fish, but they have been scattered.  Males following caught females to the net has been reported too.  That means they are spawning in the river and anything with shallow weeds and current.  Mornings have been best with a few fish being caught after dark on the rafts.  Most of those have been post spawn females.  The best walleye fishing is still to come.
There have been some BIG white bass showing up in the New London area and also some being reported in Fremont.  If the warm trend continues, expect to see more of them soon too.  WE NEED RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
