Some big post spawn females have been showing up on the rafts and also being reported by some anglers drifting and jigging. The bulk of the action for post spawn fish have been coming from New London and above, but expect those fish to start showing up all over. The up coming rain might extend the spawn, as there have been some females showing up still full of eggs. That will keep the males around longer.
Make sure to check out www.theguppyguy.com for information on a new product being field tested in the area. It’s national release and final versions will be set for the 2011 product year. Designed as a “snap weight”, I use painted ones in a variety of ways to catch fish and present baits where you normally can’t get them. Check out the Wolf River Walleye Club web site photo gallery.
