If guys are talking about fishing, shush is the word when I show up at some of my favorite watering holes lately. What that usually means seems to have been confirmed by the recent disappearance of a few local river rats, as noticed by one of the better fishing bartenders that you’ve ever met. A friend had been catching a few and has heard of some good fishing from below New London. Water levels have deteriorated the shore ice in some areas so caution is very important. The cold snap should help firm things up, but there are still plenty of danger areas due to the increased flow. Fish seem to be on the move so each trip out should have good potential for success. More soon, including some video.
Dick Kiesow reports good fishing in the lower end of the river for perch and bluegill and that there are still walleye being caught out on Lake Poygan.
