Water levels have dropped below average for this time of year and have also dropped below the 50 degree mark. They rebounded today a bit from the drop to under 46 degrees to a whopping 47. The predicted rain could help to bring water levels up which should allow for a second flurry of spawning activity. My friend at Rustic Wolf Inn in Shiocton have been seeing pre-spawn fish moving up stream. That could extend the run to a second spawn near normal time around mid April. White Bass are in the river as are perch, but the cool down has affected overall success. Some anglers figure it out each day and do well while others are having less success. That’s typical of this time of year even if you fish every day, let alone are visiting the area.
