Crappie and smallmouth have still been biting but not as well as they had been, same with the walleye. The crappie been running smaller and I think the smallmouth have been tougher to catch because of the availability of easy food as the frog population returns to the river to hibernate. That’s the same story for the walleye as fish we are cleaning are literally STUFFED with frogs. With water temperatures getting colder, the fish will continue to feed and the bite will improve as the forage base dwindles with the colder temps.
